Carrie Culberson - August 28, 1996 - OH

On Wed., August 28, 1996, Carrie Culberson was dropped off by her friends at her residence in Blanchester, Ohio. She never made it into her house. Days later suspicion of her disappearance would fall on her then boyfriend, Vincent Doan. Carrie had a violatale relationship with Vincent Doan. She had suffered several attacks from Doan during their relationship. Just three days before Carrie vanished, Vincent Doan held her at gunpoint on a deserted road.
Doan would later be charged with Carrie's disappearance and murder. He would later be convicted of her kidnapping and murder. He is serving a life sentence in prison without parole. Charges would also be filed against his brother, father and police chief for assisting Doan in the murder coverup. Carrie's body is still missing along with her 1989 Red Honda CRX, but her family continues to search for her. One of the men tied to one of the most infamous murder cases in Tri-state history is now out of jail.

Tracey Baker was convicted in connection with the disappearance and death of Carrie Culberson.

Baker was found guilty of obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence in 1998.

Baker, who completed his eight-year sentence Tuesday, is the half-brother of is Vincent Doan.

Doan is serving a life sentence for kidnapping and killing Culberson, who disappeared in august 1996.

Culberson's body has never been found.

This past weekend the members of the Midwestern Coalition for the Missing &
Murdered were in Blanchester, OH to remember Carrie Culberson who has now
been missing for 10 long years. Monday night (August 28, 2006) on the
anniversary of Carrie's disappearance, there was a ceremony held at the
Blanchester Police Dept. that recognized victims of domestic violence,
including Carrie. Afterwards, another small vigil was held for Carrie back
at her house where she was last seen on that fateful night.

Below are some photos from this weekend. We are now moving past a decade of
searching but are not about to give up. Thanks to *ALL *those people who
came to town to help us remember her. We thank you from the bottom of our
hearts.
